Hi everyone,
I had part of colon removed a year ago due to cancer and have an ileostomy at the moment which will hopefully be reversed in new year.i was aware that I would still have a discharge from rectum occasionally ( which I did until I had chemo). since the chemo finished in April I have only had 2 movements, which are more like normal movements .I had some complications from chemo so only had 3 out of 4 sessions due to too many side effects.is this unusual ?
Thanks
Hi NiallO I didn’t really notice any change in rectal discharge during chemo but it’s good to know that things are still working down there. They will check that your join is fully healed before your reversal then it’s a small operation to reverse it - my surgeon told me that it’s a nice little fill in op in between the big ones so hopefully you won’t have to wait too long
Take care
