Hello we recently found out my daddy has bowel/rectal cancer. He started chemo had one dose but bow the oncologist has said theyre stopping chemo because cancer has progressed. Does that mean it's the end or is there another treatment they're going to look into ? Im really worried I just joined this today because that's when we found the chemo stopping. I don't even know if am allowed to right in this as I don't have it. Thank you in advance

  • Sorry to hear about your daddy. When you say 'one dose' do you mean one round or one cycle? So a round last around 12 weeks, a cycle can be 2, 3 or 4 weeks within a round? My husband has S4 rectal cancer and he's just starting with his 3rd line (different) chemo with a prognosis of 3-4 months. I'm surprised they're stopping it completely for your daddy, have you asked him what chemo he was on and for how long, what did the oncologist actually tell your daddy.  I truly hope you get some answers which may help you understand the reasons for it stopping. Pray

  • Sorry to hear about your husband, no he litterally went for one chemo sessionhe was suppose to continue right up until christmas but he had an op so there was a break of chemo until he recovered but today we phoned and they said they were stopping chemo he had an mri this week which showed the cancer has moved to his pelvic area. Thank you for the reply
