I have somehow been chosen to talk about my bowel cancer journey on the radio specifically , on the BBC Bristol breakfast show after 7am on August 4th . So if you are interested , tune in that morning!
Clearly, the BBC are keen to make everyone out there better tuned into the various and varied symptoms and signs that might lead to bowel cancer, since there is a very marked increase in many countries among younger people getting this cancer.
In my own case, it was a combination of seeing a little blood in my poo, with a spell where my stools became unusually narrow ,that prompted me to mention stuff to my GP but I swear that I could just as easily have brushed it all off as nothing,as those symptoms were irregular and rarely seemed serious.
ADMIN-I hope it's ok to post this here? Obviously, during my interview I will mention the splendid role that the likes of MacMillan do in bringing people together and sharing support and knowledge.
That’s great news Nevermind and I’m sure you’ll do everybody proud. I see so many stories in the tabloids of people putting it down to stress/change in lifestyle (that was me actually!)/menopause/ibs/piles - but if in doubt - get checked out!
Hope it goes well
Take care
