I have somehow been chosen to talk about my bowel cancer journey on the radio Grinning specifically , on the BBC Bristol breakfast show after 7am on August 4th . So if you are interested , tune in that morning!

Clearly, the BBC are keen to make everyone out there better tuned into the various and varied symptoms and signs that might lead to bowel cancer, since there is a very marked increase in many countries among younger people getting this cancer.

In my own case, it was a combination of seeing a little blood in my poo, with a spell where my stools became unusually narrow ,that  prompted me to mention stuff to my GP but I swear that I could just as easily have brushed it all off as nothing,as those symptoms were irregular and rarely seemed serious.

ADMIN-I hope it's ok to post this here? Obviously, during my interview I will mention the splendid role that the likes of MacMillan do in bringing people together and sharing support and knowledge.

  • That’s great news  and I’m sure you’ll do everybody proud. I see so many stories in the tabloids of people putting it down to stress/change in lifestyle (that was me actually!)/menopause/ibs/piles - but if in doubt - get checked out!

    Hope it goes well

    Take care

  • Excellent, you will be fantastic!!!! Hope you are doing well xx

  • Great news! You will do a wonderful job I'm sure.

People really need to hear this information over and over.

I wish I could listen but as I'm in the States and that's like 2 am my time, I'll have to miss it. Maybe they'll rebroadcast it at a better time here... I'll check on that.

  • BBC Radio Bristol, after 7am news on Monday 4th, me talking live about my bowel cancer-just a reminder Innocent

I will ask the host if I can name drop and if so will certainly mention the superb MacMillan cancer support network.

If anyone wants me to mention anything, that might catch the ear of a wider audience, please tell me Hugging
