Hi,

I had my reversal 15 months ago. Had slight ache in stomach site since it was fitted. All went well. I have ct scans every 3 months all is good with them too. This last month I’ve had increased in pain, burning sensation, pulling feeling and the scar hurts. Is this normal for nerve/muscle damage. I did ring the colorectal nurses whose advice was to make a gp appointment which I’m waiting on. Has anybody experienced these issues. Thanks. X

  • Hi Eliot welcome to the forum. My Cancer was a different type to yours so i cant answer with any certainty but I'm wondering if you may like to give the Nurses a call at the Macmillan Line and ask them about this. My main reason for suggesting that it that they are more equipped with the medical knowledge required for your question if that makes sense? 08088080000 Best wishes for now. Gail

  • I had my reversal last December. I am still getting pain on the scar where the stoma was and tender below the scar. I chased  and chased for o post op review. Eventually got one with a Consultant in early May. He thinks the pain is a nerve that got trapped when I had the surgery. He sent me for a scan but I have had no appointment sent to me for the results. It’s been a month .  Frustrating and always worrying that the Cancer is back when I have pain. I feel your concerns. Good luck

  • Heart️ thanks for your reply. I’ve had no follow up since surgery with the surgeon, just 3 monthly checks with oncologist. I’ve got gp appointment this week and oncology phone appointment at the end of the month. It’s so hard to get information and advice.

  • Same here only getting bloods done and phone appointment with Haematology.  I feel like a nuisance when I keep chasing appointments .
