Sore bum - son losing mucus after bowel op. Any tips?

I'm using diaper rash cream. I like Calmosetine but not sure if you can get the same brands there. But I'd think any diaper rash or barrier cream would help.

I suggest you speak to your GP or the district nurses they should be able to give you some medicated ointment.

Hi sorry to hear of your sons problem please inform his docter if it is causing a problem as they will have medication to help. I have just had a bowel resection and have a stoma but the nurses do ask me everytime is there any mucus or pain at back passage I am just 2 weeks post op.

Thanks for reply he doesn't have any problems with the stoma it's the mucus he looses that is upsetting him.

Yes  I understand i had loads before operation  but none now  so hope you can get it sorted .

The mucus is white now is that a good sign?

Yes it sounds good normal is clear or white.

He is drinking cranberry juice thought he would give it a try x
