Hi I have had half my bowel removed and things seemed to get back to normal after the operation and the capos chemo. Now however I am constipated and although stools are soft it’s hard to go. I am getting conflicting advice about what to do. Has anyone else had this problem?
Hi Caz83 Constipation is not something I have experienced as I am the opposite but there are a few tips in this booklet
https://bcuk.adidocdn.dev/Publications/Bowel_Cancer_UK_Regaining_Bowel_Control.pdf
Ive also read that warm prune juice can help get things moving and pear juice although I’ve not seen it in the supermarkets although read that it maybe in the baby aisle? You could also ring your colorectal support nurse and see what over the counter products they recommend
Take care
