Having been in remission for just short of five years, I found a small lump which I mentioned to my GP. He arranged for me to have an ultra-sound scan, which indicated that my cancer had spread. I then had a CT scan to get more details and was told they would contact me with the results, two weeks after the scan. As everyone knows, the waiting can be quite stressful, especially as two weeks has turned into three and I still have not heard anything. I am ok with this, but it is a bit tough on my wife and children. This also makes it hard to make plans for the rest of the year, but hopefully the results will come soon and any potential treatment plans can be put in place.
In the meanwhile, I will carry on going to the gym four times per week and enjoy the lovely weather that we've been having, spending time working in our garden.
Hi Lucky1 I’m so sorry to read this. Is it a recurrence from the bowel cancer? After 5 years I would have considered myself to be ‘home and dry’ so that must’ve come as an awful shock. Really hope you get the scan results soon so you can get a plan in place.
Thankyou for sharing a picture of your beautiful garden - you must be very proud of it. Please let us know how things progress for you
Take care

At this stage, they do not know if it is a recurrence of bowel cancer. That was a question that I asked the doctor. He said that could not be established until after the mass had been removed and tests had been done on it, but it probably was.
Thankyou for your kind comments. X
Hi Lucky1
It’s a bit more protracted with the scanning waits for recurrence. But hopefully you will get a good plan in place . One thing I did observe with mum is it can suddenly move very quickly . Either to surgery or chemo .
I have to say your garden is stunning . I love the planting . We used to have a lot of garden photos on here . It was very therapeutic to focus on other things , especially when the end result is so beautiful.
Hope all goes well . My mum had three recurrences but managed to squeeze in 15 years of living around them too before she passed at 82 !
Take care ,
