How long does it take for the pain to get better following a bowel cancer operation
I don't recall being in pain but I think it was because of the morphine. I do remember a few hallucinations, which was fun. Also, when I was asked to stand up after a couple of days some sixth sense told me not to, so I didn't. A few days later I got up of my own accord but feeling weak because I was living on sugar-free jelly and ice cream - nothing else. It didn't take long to start feeling better but the total healing process took about twelve weeks I reckon. Keyhole surgery by the way.

Hi Rosie13 He really needs to get up and moving as soon as possible - the sooner he’s up and about then the sooner he gets home. Just a short walk up the ward and back pushing his drip stand to start with then build from there. Did he have a Low Anterior Resection or an Abdominal Perineal Resection do you know? x
