  • Good morning everyone.
    Iam Debbie aged  65yrs young.

I had a right Hemicolectomny last May after completing the test NHS send through post. No symptoms whatsoever. Diagnosed with Bowel Cancer early stage but had three large cancerous tumours  in bowel and 11, polyps pre cancerous.

I was very lucky:-
no Radiotherapy or Chemo or any type treatment required after surgery.

  • iam starting to get very anxious and worried that something else is not wright in stomach as keep getting sharp pains in left side of stomach.
started about four weeks ago now becoming more frequent. At first I put it down to type food I ate eg I tried some nuts. Very painful afterwards so no more nuts. then too much fibre.
just woke up with this sharp pain, for first time!

  • I have annual follow up Colonoscopy on 30/03/25.
has anyone else experienced these sharp pains at all please?

  • many thanks

  • Hi  My friend recently had this and was advised after a colonoscopy that she had a touch of diverticulitis? I’m not medically trained so you could make an appointment to see your GP and maybe keep a food diary to see if certain foods make your symptoms worse? I think nuts and seeds can be typical culprits?

    Take care
