Hi, just told last week got bowel cancer. Got appointment at hospital tomorrow with consultant to talk through what happens next. It's very late and my mind is in overdrive.
Hi Boxier,
I am awaiting results and have a CAT scan on Wednesday. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions since last week. I seem to manage through the day but night can be lonely.
Just to tell you that my thoughts are with you and in such a short time, I have found support here. Take care and sending you love. You are not alone.
Hi IonaF, you are right I am ok in day but at night sleep just impossible. It's been a rollercoaster for me too. Had colonoscopy, MRI and CT scan all within 4 days. Then a week to wait for MDT meeting outcome. Tomorrow find out what's the timeline for it will be chemo, radiotherapy then operation. You take care thinking of everyone who's going through this too.
Hi Boxier and a warm welcome to the board. The waiting for results is very stressful but once you have a treatment plan in place then things will honestly feel a bit better. I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2016 and had chemo radiotherapy, the op and then chemo (it’s done in a slightly different order nowadays) and I’m still ‘no evidence of disease’.
The next few months will be tough but there’s lots of support on here for you.
Please let us know how your meeting goes?
Take care
Karen x
