Waiting Time

Hi everyone, I have had Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy as a neoadjuvant treatment for stage 3 bowel cancer, this has now been completed and I today recieved an email to say I have an appointment with the surgeon on the 24th Jan. Does anyone know how long from this I should expect my op to take place?

Hi Templeton I think it probably varies from hospital to hospital and how busy they are? I think my surgery was about 2 months after finishing chemoradiotherapy - it was originally scheduled for 7/12/16 but was brought forward a week as they had an operation booked in that needed both surgeons.

Thanks Karen, I was just curious. I am expecting mid Feb for the op now. I know there is a time frame between the end of chemo and doing it for me to recover and also needs to be done before any growth could start again.
