My son has to take tablets at the same time as having radiotherapy. How many tablets will he have to take
Hi Rosie13 Chemo dosage is worked out on a persons height and weight so it will depend on that and the size of the tablets so 1000 mg could be 2x 500 mg tablets whereas 1200 mg could be 2 x 500 mg and 2x 100 mg. It’s quite a low dosage as it’s used to enhance the effect of the radiotherapy so any side effects will hopefully not be too bad x
Yes, he can. Radiotherapy does not affect others.

Hi Rosie13 The actual treatment probably takes about 10 minutes but there can be a lot of waiting around if the machines are running behind or one is broken? I was given a list of appointment times at my first visit but I changed them to as early as possible so there was less chance of a backlog and I could then go into work straight after x
