Hi all, i’m having a resection on the 10th although i’ve done bowel prep for the colonoscopy i’m having a different solution for this called Picolax.
Generally how long does the first bout last for? i had a rough idea for plenvu, i wondered how this differs?
We have a hotel booked local to the hospital and so once things have died down i plan on making the short journey to the hotel with second dose already prepared. I guess we’re all different and you know your body, but trying to get a rough idea if possible.
In case of an emergency i guess i could take a bucket and some loo roll as a precaution lol.
Hi Double G
I'm not a member of this forum but noticed that your post hadn't has any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
I hope everything goes smoothly today
Hi there, over 33 years of crohns disease/ bowel cancer this year diagnosed after right hemicolectomy, I've endured both picolax and plenvu & my recall if both are much of a muchness! Don't blame me please if you find I'm wrong but that's my recall & keep the bucket / roll handy! All the very best, grim but necessary, let us know how you get on xx
I had movieprep for my colonoscopy and picolax for my op. Picolax was more gentle - they don't seem to have the same need to see that they do for the colonoscopy even though it was done as a keyhole op so must have been using a camera. Unfortunately I can't recall the exact timing of the movieprep working as I did it all at home before going to the hospital. I remember having been asked to take a liquid meal supplement on my drive to the hospital.
Thanks not long out of hospital hence late response, just awaiting results now.
Hi GG
I had a laparoscopic anterior resection in 2017 .... most of the prep was a bit of a blur.... luckily no chemo or stoma....5 days in hospital.... Back to work 9 weeks later.... recovery was pretty straightforward.... clear scopes and discharged by oncology in December 2022
Take care
Peter
