Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has had this during their chemo? Blood clot in bile duct?
Mum to get more bloods tomorrow to confirm this.
Also what the treatment plan would be?
thanks everyone xx
Hi Poppy95 I developed large bilateral lung clots a few weeks after surgery - my surgeon seemed to say that it is a common side effect of the cancer? I was treated with an anti coagulant called Apixaban and I’m now on a low dosage for life as the specialist consultant was concerned that I had developed the clots while I was in hospital already having the blood thinning injections that they give you on the ward.
Take care
Karen x
I have developed a blood clot on my liver as a result of chemo. I had blood thinning injections for a week and now am on the same tablets Karen mentions for between 3-6 months. Another scan will be done after three months to see how it’s doing / dispersing. Apparently one in five got blood clot as a side effect of chemo.
