Hi Mags75,

Just to add to Kareno62’s post Bowel Cancer UK also offer a peer support service where you can talk to someone with similar lived experience. I do know the co-ordinator is currently on leave (as I volunteer as peer support) so the service is temporarily unavailable but if you’re still apprehensive after speaking with the surgeon next week you might want to make enquiries and see if there is peer support volunteer you could talk to.

That sounds like excellent news. Curiously, the surgery is the easiest bit for the patient as you will go out like a light, wake in the knowledge that the tumour has been destroyed and continue your life in a better frame of mind, Just take it easy until you feel that the surgical wounds inside have properly healed and then set about recovering your strength. Nearly there!
