My son is a self employed welder is there any benefit he can claim while having his treatment?
Hi Rosie13
I am sorry to hear of your son's cancer.
The best way to find out what your son is entitled to is to call the Support Line and speak with one of the financial advisors. You can also do this via online chat if you prefer.
They can take some details from you and work out what your son may be entitled to claim and how to go about doing so. I did this myself and was given helpful advice, the amounts that I would be entitled to and also how I needed to go about claiming them. I was also entitled to a Macmillan Grant that was really helpful and took the immediate pressure off. There may well be somethings that he can access but they need the circumstances to be able to work the figures out.
I found getting the advice really helped me to be able to focus on the treatment without worrying so much about finances.
