Could the cancer spread while waiting for treatment
The tumour may increase in size slightly but the consultant will have looked at the tumour size and everything is taken into account for the treatment timeline. Bowel cancer is very slow growing and people have posted on here saying that their consultant has said that the tumour has probably been there for a couple of years?
This is understandably very worrying for you. Have you thought about ringing the support line for a chat? Hope your son gets a start date through soon
Take care

Hi Rosie13
I had radiotherapy and chemo treatment at Weston Park for my cancer and had great staff. Parking is really limited and works on one out, one in so it’s best to leave plenty time.
Keep your parking ticket, and hand into the travel desk just inside the hospital. You will then get a pass to display and no charge for future visits.

I had a different cancer, so I’m afraid you can’t really compare the two.

Yes thank you, my original diagnosis was way back in September 2018 and although I had a recurrence and surgery, that was more than 4 years ago. I’m fine now!
