Hi to all out there! I feel like I have lived on this bloody computer since my Dad got diagnosed 2mths ago! We live in New Zealand, and are trying to get a grip of what is going on and would love to here of positive stories from anyone else going through the same thing!
My Dad has always been a fit and healthy man. He was concerned with a lump he felt in his tummy... after testing we found out this was liver mets from advanced colon cancer! He has been tender in his tummy, but not in pain at all. He started chemo 2 cycles ago, with xeloda tabs and oxaliplatin. I am worried that living in little old New Zealand that my DAD may not be getting the best treatment, that there maybe better things out there! He is a fit man and has a better appetite than he has ever had, so we are hoping all of these factors will make him respond well to the treatment. I would love to hear from you all x
My Heart goes out to Ann, who lost her amazing Nev this afternoon. Ann, has been a constant on this thread for so many people and always remained positive, and has given so much support to me and many others on here. RIP you amazing man Nev, how lucky you were to have Ann by your side through all this XXX
Very sad to hear this too. I agree with you Jules. It was on this thread that we first heard of Nev cycling around his area with his chemo pack on. He remained Nev the man and did not seem to let the cancer define him. I feel lost for words today and really feel for Ann. I said to Ann privately that she too never brings her own needs to the table , always what was best for Nev. Two pretty special people.
All my love ,

:(..very sorry to hear ann..wasnt here from the beginning so just read back..so hard to survive this awful disease, all these fighters taken. no more pain now..you will meet again..but not yet (ok i didnt say that, it was off Gladiator movie..but its my favourite quote) xxx
Well when I started this thread my lovely Dad was '66yrs, and today Tues 29th Nov, would have been Dad's 68th BD if the BIG 'C' hadn't gotten in the way of all that. So a bit of a tough day. I have brought a HUGE cream filled lamington to have tonight, as my Dad and our wee fell Rhys often shared a lamington after Dad had had his chemo, so it quickly became a treat to have with 'Poppy' so since it reminds us all so much of Dad we decided that Dad would want our kids to have a lamington on his birthday! Mum was down with us for three days but went home a couple of days ago. She is having pork fingers tonight, as that was one of Dad's favourites also - we may all have to blame Dad for our increasing tummy's!
Thinking of you Jules. Love Court

Hi Court, wishing you much love for results....XXX I hope all is well.
We're so busy at the moment! Like everyone, with the onslaught of Christmas sneaking up on us. Our kids are 10,8 and 5yrs, and they finish up school here in New Zealand on Thursday, so as you can imagine there is a hectic week coming up! I think we will get through it! Our kids are also looking forward to Christmas... Mum not so much, she would like to 'skip' Christmas this year, but we have to have a good one for Dad! I keep seeing him, walking through the passage door last Christmas morning, I faught back the tears knowing it was probably going to be our last one with him xxx Well whether we like it or not, Christmas will happen! We are going to Mum's this year and then up to Mum and Dad's fishing hut too have some special time where we all feel close to Dad, and our kids have a ball!
Wishing everyone a special Time, know it isn't going to be easier for some of us xxx
You know I look around this site, and see all these beautiful people that are no longer with us... and I truely believe it is so true that GOD only takes the best....
As for me, I'm going to be rocking on for bloody long time! XOX
