Hi All,
I have had all my treatment now, firstly with major surgery and then finished off with chemotherapy when I was strong enough to have it.
I am now in recovery and have the great news of no- reoccurrence of cancer, it was a tough time from start to finish but the staff in all the hospitals have been fantastic in their support throughout.
The challenge I face now are the side effects from the chemotherapy, I have encountered neuropathy and it Is causing a very uncomfortable feeling in both my hands and feet, my feet are the worse, the sensation is like walking on stones with a numbness feeling, I also get a burning sensation in both my hands and feet when getting out of the bath or shower,
I have different medication from the doctors but up to now this has not given me any subsidence of my condition, If anyone has encountered the same I would be grateful of any recommendations.
Hi Elvis and congratulations on being no evidence of disease. Unfortunately neuropathy is a well known side effect of oxaliplatin and if you type neuropathy in the search box at the top of the screen then you’ll see lots of previous posts. I’ve attached a link to one below but I’m afraid no one’s managed to come up with a miracle cure yet
Peripheral neuropathy after chemo
Take care
