Hi has anyone had enlarged lymph nodes show up on a scan. My husband had a scan as had not been well with a lot of diarrhoea and generally feeling unwell. He had an oesophageal tumour removed and a very early tumour removed from bowel beginning of August. He seems to have been missed by the colorectal team for follow up care and this only came to light when he was unwell and saw the surgeon who did the oesophageal op. He has been seen now by the surgeon from colorectal team who thinks the enlarged lymph nodes are due to him being unwell as they are not in the area where tumour was and of the 18 lymph nodes taken none had cancer in them. He did however arrange for a PET scan ‘just to make sure’ but I am really worried now as wondering why a PET scan. Has this happened to anyone else please?
