CEA levels

After 4 years 11 months I have had my 5 year tests thinking I had made it only to be told that my CEA levels have climbed very high and this is a sure indication that my cancer has returned.

Now having CT and PET scans arranged to find cancer.

Gutted would be an understatement we have not told the children yet as we what to know how bad it is.

You come so far believing you have beaten this horrible illness only to be find you have not.

Having been told 5 years that not only did I have colon cancer which took 2 major operations to get rid of.

Then being told you also have Lymphoma. Been to six monthly appointments to the Lymphoma clinic, today being told that the lymph nodes are growing with the cancer.

Now having to fight on 2 fronts 2 massive shocks inane day trying to hold it together is difficult

Oh Colon . I am feeling for you for sure . Do they think the lymphoma has returned too ?

One thing for sure . My mum is on her third recurrence and it is hurting but we are here for you every step of the way and slowly but surely a treatment plan will take shape . Until then we are here listening and offering support to help you take the next step forward .

So sorry you are having to go through this again, to get so close to the 5 year mark and then get told this must be devastating. I am also dealing with a recurrence and its taken me straight back to when I was diagnosed. Just hang on in there until they have a clearer picture and can put a treatment plan together. There are lot more treatments available, and research has progressed a lot, even in just the last 5 years.
