Good morning everyone.

Hope that today is a good one for us all?

Very tearful thus morning. Going for my biopsy and scan results today at 1.15. My friends are taking me as my Dad had an appointment at another hospital and went there with his sister. He's just phoned me to say they will be in good time to get to me for results.

I'm so scared but know I need to know what I'm facing.

Love to you all

  • Hi @Paddybug. Sending you a big virtual hug. Yes it’s hard but you will be getting a treatment plan in place which is good news. I remember them telling me that there was no spread and then I missed the next few minutes which is why havung someone else with you is helpful! I also had a quick immediate follow up chat with the colorectal support nurse who I’d been allocated who made sure that I’d understood everything.

Will have everything crossed for you and please keep us posted?

    Take care

  • Good morning Court.

Sorry I only just replying to you.

    Saw a consultant I hadn't seen before.

He was very Frank saying it was a rarer form of bowel cancel that was growing outside the bowel and pressing up against my prostate

He called it local advanced. Advanced I believe as in its size, quite big but it hasn't spread anywhere else in my body which is great news.

I need a PET scan next to see if any of my lymph nodes are affected if they are to remove them before starting on a course of radio chemo therapy to be decided.

He did then say if after the therapy if it was still there I would need an operation to remove the anus area and I would need a stoma. I really don't want to face that thought at the moment I have to focus on ridding my body of this horrible growth.

I've been doing what I can.ehich isn't always a lot I'm still so shocked at the news. However I also appreciate it could have been muxh worse so count my blessings.

    Hugs

  • Hi Kareno62

I just read back through messages and realised I hadn't responded to you. I am so sorry.

    Thank you for your message

I had Dad with me but he was too in the moment to write anything down. We got to gist of it between us.

I have been onnthe phone today to my nurse keyworker she has listened and has offered some useful advice.

Suffering today with abdominal pain and have managed to pass some stools which is easing the pain.

Trying to stay strong but it isn't an easy time for any of us is it until we have a treatment plan in place.

I hope all is moving forward for you in a positive way

  • Hi there Katz51

Thank you for your well wishes

I find it all very overwhelming but there are positive things that I can take away from the whole situation.

I'm encouraged by your story. So pleased that everything is contained and is allowing you to enjoy your life once more.
