Just thought I would ask here, if anyone after radiotherapy has developed psoriasis.

I had radiotherapy a year ago and now awaiting to see a dermatologist as my gp thinks it’s psoriasis through having radiotherapy. My skin day by day is getting worse. Have googled to see what is recommended for psoriasis. Gp given me some steroid cream but not really working.

any advice would be appreciated

  • Hi Smileymo. It’s not something that I’m aware has cropped up before but maybe you could try asking in the Ask a Nurse section?

  • Balmond skin salvation is good for psoriasis. Steroid cream or ointment does not work for me. Found that Balmond skin salvation helps as it contains bee's wax.

  • Hi Smiley

Methotrexate can help control psoriasis...psoriasis can lead to psoriatic arthritis which is quite debilitating....ask GP about it....strong drug....low dose.

  • Hi

I'm not sure if Pompholyx and Psoriasis are similar. I have Pompholyx from chemo.

I have 2 different strength steroid creams for different parts of body as thinner skinned areas need a milder one. I've found the steroids only do well if i get the treatment period right, initially I was not applying for enough days.

Have you been recommended soap substitute  emolient and a strong daily moisturising routine? I have found both helpful and changing clothing and bedding materials to 100% cotton where possible.

I'm still quite new to it so trying to explore whether my vitamin levels are influencing influence.
