Where is everyone?

The rain could not have come down any heavier yesterday but drying out nicely for travelling.

Mum has just tucked in her Christmas Day fry up !

Staying for a few days .

We host Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so it’s busy and chaotic but that’s just the way I like it .

Off to get the hoover  out again!

Wow! Where did those two months go? Encouraging news about your Mum. My brother has his appt today and must be feeling very nervous. I hope the wait for results is not too long. I’m ok apart from more teeth problems. But they’ve been there over 70 years so can’t complain. I’m thinking about a partial plate which is $2,500 or £1,250 or so. Not sure if I need it. I don’t smile much or go out and can still eat. It’s been hot here of course but the bedroom is cooler so a perfect excuse for an extended Power Nap as I call it. All the best from NZ. x

We are winging round to spring . So looking forward to it .

Mum is strengthening and getting out and about .

She is going to grow some vegetables this year .

How did your brother get on ?

Hi. He has stage 4 liver cancer. They took more blood tests and he will have a full body scan soon to see if it has spread. It started as a melanoma on his head which involved skin grafts. The awful waiting time now. 

Oh I am so sorry . Hopefully he will be suitable for some of the immunotherapy treatments. They seem to work well with some melanomas .

Such a lot to process. Always here for a chat !

Yes, he’s started immunotherapy treatment and will have the scan today (Thursday.) He’s still being matter of fact about it all. 

That’s a great attitude to have . It’s great he is suitable for immunotherapy but still it’s a lot to go through . Having been through so much yourself you know the path he has to go on and that’s tough .

Mum is still doing well . Having a day out with her carer today .

The scan was encouraging with no spread and some shrinkage. He had polymyalgia but it seems to be a side effect of his immunotherapy. All very new to me. He'll have more treatment in a few weeks. Getting dark earlier now as expected and they mess about with the clocks soon. I’d prefer longer evenings. Oh well, I might ignore clocks and do my own thing. 

Really , we learn so much with each new treatment coming through .

I am longing to see some bright sky . Seems like a grey wet carpet has hung over here .

The flowers are pushing through now which is encouraging.

Hi. Just checking in. A fine Wednesday morning but 9C max forecast. Had lots of bulbs delivered so must get on with it now. My brother is still responding well to his treatment. As for me, still worry about every twinge or new spot but that’s me. First name terms with all the nurses at the surgery. Very good customer…
