Good morning folks, back again and struggling a little, it has been two weeks since my operation,
I have had to resort to wearing a male nappy after my tumour was removed from the lower bowel.
I was told after the operation I had a gauze plug in my rectum which would eventually deteriorate and break away I cannot remember what it was in place for.
The nappy thing is starting to get me down, at the moment I am incontinent and don't realise I have defeated until I smell it, which is extremely embarrassing..
I haven't ventured out into public plaaces,, between my anus still being extremely painful and the possibility of “accidents”.
Has anyone had similar with the bum plug and struggle with the nappy,
Thanks Robby.
Hi Robby63
I am wondering if some of the nurses on the helpline could get you some information.
Some people have also found this a good information leaflet . It’s very early days for you but might get some reassurance and tips from this .
