I’m so sorry to read your post. Are you able to talk to someone about how you’re feeling? I only had a temporary stoma, so can’t understand what you’re going through. Are you on the other forum? There will be others who know more about what you’re talking about, but keep posting anywhere so that you can get more support. Sending you lots of love and hugs.
Hi Rabbit 55
Our helpline staff would be happy to chat this through with you too on 0808 808 0000.
It might reassure you others have worked through this aspect and found a way through . Please do join the stoma group .
Surgery takes a lot of adjusting too and Macmillan has teamed up with Bupa to offer six free counselling sessions . The helpline would be happy to give you details and also offer other supports .
I am so glad you have joined the forum and been honest with how you are feeling and can now link in with others with real experience who know how to help you .
Take care ,
Court

Hi Rabbit 55
sorry you are feeling so low. I hope that you have support from your GP and like Katz51 has said the Stoma group are super supportive. I found it really helpful connecting with others that had been were I was and found their advice so valuable
Sending you a hug
Ann
I have had the Stoma three months now, but though I make jokes about it too people around me the more it hurts when by myself. Tried to talk with my wife but she wants to think all is going well, and will not listen to what I am saying. She is scared I believe and this regrettably is her way to deal with it all.
She likes me to keep going and gets upset if I don't get into the task at hand. I try and keep going which I am not really able to do, especially as I am waiting for my total right hip replacement operation.
Hi Rabbit 55
You've been through so much, making jokes a way of making others feel at ease though it’s so hard when you’ve been through life changing surgery.
I’m tagging Eddiestomart he’s an inspiration.
Also the stoma group please join Ileostomy, colostomy, urostomy and any other stoma support
Amazing group of people and there’s others that have the same as you
You can phone Macmillan they can arrange counselling as well
Take care
Ann
Are there any particular problems you are having with the stoma?if so Im sure the stoma group could help.
You should feel much better once you get your hip done, especially if it is causing pain which can wear you down.Ive had both hips done and you feel so much better immediately.
Do please ask any questions.someone on these forums can always come up with an answer.
