Hi
On my last CT and MRI scan ' a thickening of the Inferior Mesenteric Artery suggestive of metestatic disease' was noted.
It wasn't discussed at MDT, as they were concerned with possible mets to the lung. Just wondering:
What treatment is given for any mets to IMA?
I'm on 'watch and wait' with the lung, at present.
Hello Nettie123
I hope that you do not mind me replying as I had a different type of cancer to you but I am hoping that by doing so it will bump your post back to the top.
Have you got a CNS that you could ask about the CT/MRI scan or maybe even your GP could go through the results with you/talk about treatments?
Alternatively you could give the Support Line a quick call and ask one of the nurses about it. The number is at the bottom.
We do have an Ask the Nurse section on here and they normally get back to you within 3 working days. I will pop a link here in case it is something that you would want to do.

Big apologies from me as I had meant to reply the other day but was busy trying to get packed to take my mum away .
I had to check the actual location , it’s in the gut area I see so you could definitely ask them if there is a surgical option or if they would use a systemic approach like chemo , targeting all areas at once .
I know with my mum as it’s in her lymph nodes and within the lung they wanted to target the two areas with the one treatment . However things are definitely changing in treatment so worthwhile asking for all the options to be thoroughly investigated to allow a fully informed choice .
Take care ,

Hi Court
Many thanks for detailed diagram and reply. Blood test today, prior to another CT soon. I'll be expecting more detailed answers, afterwards - if not will request second opinion.
On a positive note. I feel fine.
Hope you and your mum have a good, well earned break together.
Best wishes
Nettie
