Hi everyone
I'm Steph from the Community team
Here is a new thread for carers, family and friends. This is a space for you to chat, share experiences and support each other through issues related to your loved ones bowel cancer. The previous thread will shortly be locked as it was getting rather long which can make it difficult to navigate.
Please remember that we also have other dedicated spaces on the Community for carers, family and friends. These spaces exist so you can support each other away from members of the forum who might be dealing with their own cancer diagnosis:
Supporting someone with incurable cancer forum
You would be welcome to set up another new thread like this in one of the above forums. Please just let us know if you would like any help?
We hope you will continue to find lots of support from each other and the Community. We're here to help, so please do let us know if you have any questions or support needs by emailing us at community@macmillan.org.uk
Thank you all. I am not sure whether it is keyhole or not but will be taking my iPad and keep you informed. Daughter here thank goodness.
big hugs to all suffering and hope they can get sorted with pain. Sorry it is short but in a bit of a state xx
Good luck with everything for tomorrow Maggie good you have your daughter home with you. Matt good luck to you too with your dad. Hope you can all get sorted out one way or the other. Take Care.
Vicky.
Thank you one and all. I will be thinking of you all and hopefully will be able to post if there is WiFi which there should be.
take care and hugs xx
Thank you. Unfortunately today’s consultation was a bit of a waste of time. They don’t have his scan results back yet (his scan was on 10th April). He was due to start another round of chemo on Thurs but they’re delaying that until they can see what the scans show. In the meantime, they’ve given him some steroids to try to build his strength up a bit. We’re hoping that might help ease the pain too but don’t really know. He’s got some slow release pain killers that he takes twice a day, and tops that up with a couple of doses of oramorph but it barely seems to take the edge off. I’m sorry that your husband is in pain too. Is he on pain meds to try to manage it?
Matt I can’t believe they do not have his results. My sister in laws nieces husband had a scan ages ago and they do not have the results of that either so he can’t start treatment. I think she is ringing up tomorrow to see why, that is absolutely scandalous especially when waiting to start treatment. I hope you get some news soon xx
Just a quick message to say our son Paul passed away lastnight
