  • Hi Katz51,

My husband has had a colonoscopy, CT and MRI scan.

We had a meeting with his surgeon and been referred to the oncologist.

I am presuming it will be about a treatment plan?

I just want to have an idea of what to expect.

    Thanks Kell

  • Hi

I found that they normally give a recap on what they have found , a bit of information on the staging then they move forward to the proposed treatment plan and how they propose to tackle it .

They give a lot of detail and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming but taking it step by step and re reading the information later can help . A pen and pencil to take a few details down can be good as there is a lot of information and stress makes you forget half of it .

    Take care ,

    Court

  • Hi Kell Sug

I found this document from Bowel Cancer UK help me get my head around some common treatment routes as well as great to explain concepts and terminology.

I wondered if you and hubby would find it useful?

  • Hi Court,

Thank you so much for the information.

I am dreading to hear what they have to say on Tuesday as when we saw the surgeon I may have missed something.

Thank you for the tips and I will definitely be taking a pen and paper with me.

I have read your story and so glad your mum is ok.

Take care and thank you again

  • Thank you CrumpetsOrToast (great name)

I will have a look through the booklet.

It is all the technical stuff and the amount of information that you get thrown at you that doesn't sink in.

I am stressed I might miss something or hear something wrong.

    Thanks again

    Kell xx
