I had a Right hemicolectomy in October last year, pT3 pN0 cM0 with isolated cancer cells in lymph node, not offered chemo,I only found out about the isolated cells from a copy of a letter to my GP, I am really struggling with not having any treatment, I keep thinking the isolated cells are spreading cancer around my body, had my first follow up with colorectal nurse in April, I explained my fears but really think she didn’t understand, i actually feel abandoned by the hospital, am I the only person who feels like this
Hi Medcliffe
I totally understand why you feel that you have been abandoned. Cancer is frightening and when we think it’s inside us it really messes with our heads
Do you think that you can write down your concerns so that you have that to focus on and phone your colorectal nurse to discuss if you need to see an oncologist or need a PET scan. I think sometimes the medics do not explain their plans in detail which causes anxiety
Ive had it, it took two months for me to find out why I was in critical care. It wasn’t explained at all at the time. Once I knew it made sense.
You could phone a medic here for some advice
I hope that you get some answers
Ann
