Update.....

It's been quite a while since I've posted but want to update you on Dad's progress... especially the kind members who've made me feel so comfy in this community.

So.... Dad had his first check up scans March and Aoril (slight delay with the CT scan as originally booked for Peterborough so we had to wait a while for Addenbrookes to give us a new appointment)

It's been a while waiting on results but yesterday we got a letter to say the scan results were all positive and NO signs of any metastases. Dad will get his next scans in one year.

The support of the Stoma Nurse team and the company supplying dad's supplies of bags etc is second to  none.

A year ago we faced the prospect of Dad not being here now. Fortunately we saw an excellent oncology team, followed by a new Consultant and his team who were simply amazing.

At the start of our journey I felt lost but found this support group a great help.  I hope this chapter of our journey helps others find some light whatever part of the journey they are on. Xx

  • Hi bluestar

Thank you for sharing your positive story it’s encouraging for others new and lovely to have an update

I also had a stoma for thirteen months , mine was reversed but I was tempted to keep it. So for others to read that your dad is managing really well is supportive for others to read. TBH I was really anxious about my stoma but I got along famously too

If you dad needs any advice the stoma group helped me so much

    Have a lovely bank holiday

    best wishes
