Has anyone had rectum cancer, had the all clear and then been told they have a small polyp, which they have removed during biopsy showing as high grade cell changes leading up to turning into cancer. I would be interested to know if you had APR operation or another treatment.
xhi Honeysuckle. I had rectal cancer and had to have that and my anus removed. I needed a permanent colostomy bag as it was sited low down. I had three months of Chemo and radiotherapy before op. The cancerous tumour was discovered when I had a colonoscopy.

My husband was diagnosed with retum cancer and told he would probably have to have an APR operation. He had 5 weeks of chemo and radiotherapy. The tumour showed it had dramatically reduced on the CT and MRI scan. He was given the option of 'Watch and Wait'. The biopsy came back all clear, but a very small polyp was removed (high grade cell changes - leading up to, but not cancer). Just wondering if anyone has been in the same position and what their treatment next was.
