Hi all, thank you for accepting me. My husband has been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. At present I am not accepting it, it makes me feel sick, panicky, shaky etc. it was a complete shock.  Anybody else in the same situation.  Many thanks

  • Morning well handy man here for hedge Simon accepted it needed doing but moaning already he slow he not doing it right he better tidy up I can do it  he's not happy butI don't care yes he is slow we could have finished it by now but we can't so I'm happy he will come round thought he was going to tell him to go but talked him round . Like Vicky not sure about the rest of garden or house keep positive everyone stay strong xx Oh poo test in post now my turn to worry x

  • Well just finished my private work and tummy is playing up. Still blood in poop so I might do a test. Les been in bed most of the day absolutely exhausted and asleep. Wish I could get someone in. Sent photos to ,y friend in Australia and she said when they come in June/July her hubby will help but I know Les too well as you all do with them. Moan over again. Sun shining but I feel cold. Probably being anxious. Huge hugs to everyone love Maggie xx

  • Well handy man came poor chap Simon sat on a chair the whole time telling him what to do then had the cheek to tell him not a very good job I admit not as good as we used to do it but poor chap just wanted to go I think it tired him out watching and moaning but it's done .Maggie is it bright red blood get test done I did mine it is cold inside weird weather cold then hot think positive thoughts it will be fine I'm sure fingers crossed xx

  • When did you do yours. It seems bright red but I have tummy ache and I think it is all to do with his diagnosis. It will come back positive.  Thankfully we have two toilets if I have to take that stuff again. I have been looking to see if there is an alternative to colonoscopy. I can’t afford to lose even a pound in weight and I am frightened as last time Les did one it came back negative and this time positive at stage 4 so it did not show up on his last one 2 years ago. Mine was positive but nothing showed up. If I am really really anxious it affects my tummy .  Thank you for caring huge hugs Maggie xx

  • Hi Maggie i have only done the poo stick you send in post I really do NOT want another colonoscopy either the drink is the devil's drink if anything shows up of course we have no choice Simon did one in February but he's not thin like me I couldn't stomach it I asked the same think the prep is the only thing they offer. I was told if blood bright red it's good I also have stomach  pains. The funny thing Simon did a poo fit test before the result came in he was rushed in with bowel blockage found large mass that had spread while he was in hospital fit test came back clear lol xx

  • Evening Ladies!

Hope you are doing ok. Well I had an unusually productive day. Did get the washing out and all the lines full. Physio phoned he is coming out to see Jay tomorrow. Homecarer in as usual this morning and I drove up to the pharmacy at the GP practice to get Jays supply of patches along with his other meds they have on file for him. Ach! got this driving thing lickedWink. Little bit anxious tonight again though. I had to get Jay to sit up to change the bedsheet (he had a wee accident- wee being the operative word as one of his bags leaked) and he said he felt really dizzy. I just told him to sit at the side of the bed and take his time. Physio said to me on the phone this morning not to tell him that he is going to try and get him standing up tomorrow because he would panic so I've not told him as I know he would. I told the physio I've had him sitting at the side of the bed for a few seconds at a time and he said that's great. Night All. Sleep well if you can.

    xx

  • Jkee I am really really thin.  I will get round to it. When did you send it in.

Patty that sounds like a good productive day even hanging the washing out is a major task for me. I am pleased you have him up sitting while changing his bag.

les slept most of the day.  It always hits him a week later after taking his tablets  hoping he has a better day today.

will chat later as usual you are all troopers.  Huge hugs Maggie xx

  • Morning Ladies!

Not looking so great today. Bit dull outside threatening rain I think. Put a washing on don't know if I'll get it out. Homecarer in just now and just waiting on the physiotherapist coming. Have A Good Day.

    Vicky xx

  • Morning sounds like you had a good day yesterday tick tick Maggie I sent test in post yesterday blood test friday Simon doctor's Wednesday nasty cough worried it is his clots in lungs back strange week garden done though plus side and he isn't happy but you know what I am it's done took charge lol hugs to everyone we got this xx

  • Leak in the sink. He said he will sort the garden it is far too large to do. Asked him this morning and he said no I will get on with it. Sent test in and I know it will come back positive.  Is the nurse or doctor coming to see Simon in case it is a clot. Patty hope you have as good a day as yesterday.  Positive thoughts although I am finding it hard at the moment.

fingers crossed for all of us and huge hugs to everyone. Maggie xx
