Hi all, thank you for accepting me. My husband has been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. At present I am not accepting it, it makes me feel sick, panicky, shaky etc. it was a complete shock.  Anybody else in the same situation.  Many thanks

  • Maggie I understand where you are coming from Doctor wants repeat my blood test to check no damage to lung I don't even want to think about that. will be interested to know if they can give you something else for a colonoscopy must be a alternative not everyone can stomach the prep including me.Good luck tomorrow praying for you all xx

  • I just can’t lose any weight otherelwisex I will be poorly. And be put con hospital. I have never been big just very tiny. I will see what they say. Doctorcteferred me to dietician but I eat well and just can’t get it on. Off to bed to relax. Speak to all tomorrow. I do hope your ribs are ok and try and rest them xx

  • Ah well! Another day, another dollar, pound euro or whatever. Just see what tomorrow brings. Antibiotics started just have to see how he goes with these. Looked in earlier and he had crashed out on the bed- he's nowhere else at this time! so the bum shuffle exercises were out. He woke up not long ago there and said he wanted to do the leg and ankle stretches so we did those. Maybe the cogs in his head are beginning to work and now realises that he needs to make an effort to do this so the bum shuffles will get done tomorrow. Goodnight everyone. Sleep well.

    xx

  • It looks as though he may have his mojo back Patty. Today is the day me at hospital and Les telephone consult.  Will be back later as I am really nervous.

take care and huge hugs to everyone maggie xx

  • Hi Maggie!

Hope everything went well for you today.

    Good Luck xx

  • So, did the `bum shuffle` with Jay- out of protest of course. Said he felt sick but felt fine before I mentioned this. Got him to sit up and he did shuffle down the side of the bed then back up and that was him so it was a start. He said can we do leg exercises later because he feels he has no strength in his legs just now. Ran sister home she will be back at the weekend she has her own wee things to do so I just leave her to it. Blood clots still coming with Jay but not as bad (touch wood) everytime I mention them they flare up. GP doesn't seem all that concerned but it looks really scary. He's just started the antibiotics so need to wait a couple of days to see if they will do anything or if it is an infection. GP surgery hasn't got back about the urine sample I handed in yesterday so don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Usually if something shows they let you know right away. Just chilling for a wee while until I make dinner. Take Care.

    Vicky xx

  • Good news Vicky sounds like a better day keep them coming well I have told Simon today this puppy Hugo is too much for me 5am he said it would upset him if I got rid and he has sat in garden with him talking to him saying thankyou for coming into my life. Sister came round said it won't last and if Simon is making a effort to get up just to relax more and to be fair couldn't do that now. RIBS are I think slight better just hurts bad when I cough remember tiredness won't kill me lol xx

  • Good news Jkee. Went to hospital and 2 years ago completely clear. Would not give a colonoscopy or scan as I would lose too much weight and end up in hospital. She did say the pain on my left side had something to do with bowels but they have left it open just in case.  The consultant said something is happening so les was pleased but did not ask anymore questions. Unfortunately she was on call that is why it was not face to face. A slightly bit of good news.

Love and huge hugs to all Maggie xx
