Hi, in August 2022 had colonoscopy  turned out it was a malignant tumour, he said he thought it was on the day but he wanted to check it.  To cut a long story short I was on my gp app looking for a letter from my adhd team about meds and opened the new document to find a letter to Dr saying it was malignant. I walked across the room must of blacked out and my day got worse as I had broken my hip.

A month later me and my new hip went to see the consultant to find I had a 6 cm tumour and a couple of lymph nobes affected in another area so was t3 N0 m1 as there were not in the margins due to my hip, treatment was delayed but after 8 week mark I was given 6 week radiochemotherapy sadly on week 4 I went in and after running tests and exrays they said it was unsafe to carry on and was given morphine for the pain I was having , 12 week later I had the scans and he said there was nothing where the tumor had been and it looked like a total response but he wanted a camera in sigmoid area to check, a month to the day of the last scan I had it and they found a 3cm malignant tumour so obviously no total response , absolutely gutted, as this happened to anyone on here, can't understand why it didn't show on my scans .

  • My partner had a colonoscopy 4.5 years ago and they found the tumour in his sigmoid colon and rectum straight away. He had no symptoms at all. He’s had 4 years of on and off treatment and surgeries which he’s coped well with. He was told he was stage 4 6 months ago and is the healthiest and fittest he has been for years. All I will say to you is…take each day as it comes. You are not a stat, your life and journey is what you make it. No one knows what the future holds, so just embrace the fight and keep living every day x
