Perineum Numbness after APR surgery

I had APR surgery on 12/12/22. I’m still very numb in my perineum area. Is this normal? I get a slight wateriy discharge from it as well, slight blood from it. I’m sorry to be so detailed. It still hurts when I reach down to pick things up, almost tightness. I just don’t know it’s this is all normal or not. I’m due to start ‘mop up’ chemo 28/2/23 which keeps being delayed due to a wound on my bottom not healing. I just don’t know if all is normal and to just shut up and get on with it.
Thank you for any advice

  • How are you getting along?  My husband had robotic APR 2 1/2 weeks ago.  He feels tight and still has pain.

  • I’m still uncomfortable, not painful. I have two wounds that still haven’t healed. I’ve been told it’s due to the chemo and radiotherapy.  I do feel fed up. I just want to know it’s normal.  I hope your husband is recovering well. It’s still very early days for him x
