In June 2023 I was diagnosed with bowel cancer T3N1M0 done the treatments, done the surgery, have the bag. Prognosis positive.
I am after some advice.
whilst the surgeon was operating he said he had a problem getting passed my womb, he said he suspected a very big fibroid. It was just a passing comment after the surgery. I don’t have my surgery follow up meeting for another month. At the moment the stoma is reversible.
should I contact my GP to discuss the fibroid or wait for the meeting with the surgeon? My ideal solution would be 1 operation 2 problems solved …..but haven’t a clue if that’s possible.
Hi Beam me up . I think I would ring your GP and have a chat as I would have thought that a fibroid would be a ‘different department’ and a different surgeon. The stoma reversal is a much smaller operation and a case of cutting around the stoma, popping it back in and stitching you back up so the fibroid would probably not be accessible? x
