A new month.  A new challenge !

Do more of what you love Two hearts, then come and tell us or show us and despite all that is going on in everyone’s life we can squeeze in some joy !

Couple of challenges going on in our wee Corner of the world . One in memory of dad . A walking challenge ! Just a small one so we don’t get put off !Rofl

The other is some therapy ! Mum having not picked up an art brush in thirty years did a seascape . So I will photograph that and post it later and relearning to knit . She is thoroughly enjoying both .

Of course there is the other challenge of preparing for her first intravenous treatment in thirteen years but there is definitely a big win in that equation when you think about it .

Hope you all have a good day and for those in treatment I hope it’s being kind and manageable.

One final point   is definitely in the wrong profession . She clearly is a detective and spotted some interesting going ones in   household . By far the most interesting creation of a bowel I have ever seen in my life and I feel it needs to go and live in some bowel advocacy project to get the attention it deserves .

and   I am actively looking at signs of spring popping through too .

The adventure continues !

  • Sorry been AWOL for a little while.... February will bring Parky to blighty for 3 weeks to see my 88yo mum. Whilst in UK  im hopefully catching up with 2 other Macmillan forum ladies that had their ops and chemo at the same time as me, so going to be an very different month. im leaving 35deg days for what sounds like chilly days!  make a change to read messages in the same time zone!!

  • I think it’s more a case of I’m a nosey Parker with too much time on my hands Joy and I’m sure everyone will be double checking their photos before posting them now! It’s really windy here today so I’ll have to hold on to my hat if I go out for a walk - I used to have a lovely furry hat with long strings with furry Pom poms on when I was a girl - wouldn’t surprise me if my mums still got it in the ‘scarf and gloves’ box which she has for emergencies when grandchildren visit then want to play out.

I feel I’m watching too much television at the moment which I need to change but my lunchtime treat is Junior Bake-off! They have to tie each other’s aprons as they can’t tie bows behind their own backs and have to stand on risers to reach the worktop but they are so enthusiastic. One little girl is a brilliant baker but so messy! There were chocolate handprints all over the fridge and she mopped up the spilt milk by trying to scrape it back off the worktop into the bottle with her hand. But when it goes wrong they might look a bit teary but happily keep going and try their best to finish the task and anyone who finishes first will go and help anyone else who’s struggling. Such a heart warming programme and lovely to watch (apart from when they have to send someone home)

Sorry I’ve rambled on a bit there - told you I had too much time on my hands - I’ll go wash up now!x

  • Lovely sunny day here. The cold has held back the snowdrops but they’re on their way and this is our pioneer on a sunny, south facing bank. Looking forward to more signs of spring. We’re still enjoying our winter scented shrubs, especially wintersweet, winter honeysuckle and witch hazel - their scent when brought indoors has lightened the darker days. So here’s a witch hazel blossom as well!

    Every blessing
    Wellspring
  • Please save the snowdrops for me. only 48 more hours :)

  • Can never have too many snowdrops…

  • We managed a short break to Seaton in Devon last week as hubby was feeling ok. It was cold but dry and sunny most of the time. Here is the view from the lounge window of the property we rented. Great to see the sea when you get up. We also met up with the couple who introduced us 37 years ago! Promised ourselves we will do it again on better weeks.

  • Thank you  ,

    I loved  ‘s curiousness.

The recycled card model of the bowel has come in very handy in explaining where my tumour WAS & what part of my snake has been removed.

I'll post a pic here for the curious.

My February challenge has started - introducing (slowly) all the lovely veg & fruit back into my diet that I have really missed this past 8 weeks! Hopeful my snake will be accepting of them all!

Looking forward to seeing your Mums painting & knitting. I must say, I also have been knitting this past couple of weeks since discharge.

      Love & best wishes, Bee

  • Needed to see this, this morning...

  • Can you add ‘someone gets so much pleasure from the Charlie Mackesy book that you introduced them to?’ x

  • Yay, just down the road from me! I lived in Beer for 10 years, but am now a bit further east in west Dorset.
