Hi Les61
I have 2 stomas and have flown many times. The first time I chose to go to Majorca as it’s a nice short flight and I learned a lot about how to cope with things. Last year I managed to get to the Maldives, so that was 11 hours, plus a speedboat transfer. All went fine.
Usually I go to Spain or the canaries, but the long haul to the Maldives was actually very easy overall. You just need to be very well prepared I think. I too was very nervous before my first holiday, but the more I’ve travelled, the more confident I’ve become. We’ve had discussions about this in the stoma group, so you may want to take a look there for info.
