Hi Jkee
Just wanted to check how you and hubby are getting on.
Morning Simon is recovering well from operation me on other hand a mess the 2 weeks is up so can't sleep dreading that call aniexty wakes me then nervous loo. the form the casing doctors sick notes etc all adds to it no tech savy I think when we know more I;m just scared he has a councillor ringing today but think I may need it more xx
Jkee I’ve replied on your other post but it’s gone to the moderators but should be with your shortly! Is it good news? I suppose no lymph nodes affected would be the best news but a lot of us have had affected lymph nodes (I had 2/17) and follow up chemo is recommended.
I won’t lie - chemo can be tough but it also gives you the best chance of zapping anything that can’t be seen and preventing a recurrence. Chemo can have a lot of side effects but there are pills and potions to combat them and the nurses monitor you closely. I sat next to a lady at one of my sessions and she had been dreading chemo as she’d seen how badly it had affected her husband 10 years previously so was pleased to find that it had improved since then.
Once you know which chemo he’ll be having then we’ll be able to help you further or if there’s anything in particular that he’s worried about then please ask x
hi Jkee, skins were the worst thing for me - apple skin, jacket potato skin. Everybody is very individual. I was told no baked beans but I had no problem with them. Peanuts were very bad for me - when I changed the bag the contents projectiled at speed. Rather alarming at the time. Smaller more frequent meals helped me and only a few peanuts at a time.

Jkee - it is a scary time and you are just as entitled to seek wellbeing or counselling support for yourself.
Macmillan offers counselling via Bupa.
Alternatively you could chat to Macmillan helpline.
There are also heaps of wellbeing things that just take just a 30-60min commitment. (Mediation/relaxation session, yoga, maasage, etc)
Simon will also benefit from you being supported, as I'm guessing he worries about you too.
Delighted to hear Simon is doing well.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
