Happy belated New Year to all.... especially those of you who have helped me navigate through difficult times since I joined here.
Sorry not been into update and see hiw you are all doing.
So . . ...... dad has been doing well and we've managed a good Xmas with Turkey & all the trimings he likes. He soldiering on with his usual demeanour....Now the New Year is time to face next syros forward.
The support from the teams in various departments via phone calls have helped ease my worries. Difficult "on the ground " when trying not to appear like a fussy person!
Got to grips with cutting 'colo bags' to size without panicking I'm doing it wrong.
Biopsy results back by phone couple of days ago. Cancer cells apparent in tissue margins around tumours removed so waiting on next appointment to discuss where we go next. Sending positive thoughts to you all xx
Hi bluestar and a belated happy new year to you too. Your dad sounds to be doing well and in a good place for any potential further treatment. My husband used to cut my bags for me! I used to get the stoma nurse to cut a couple at my appointment - they seem to do it so smoothly - then I’d use the plastic backing plate as a template. Once my stoma had finished shrinking after about 6 weeks I got them pre-cut by the supplier.
Take care
Karen x
