Hi all I was thinking about getting some protein drinks as after my chemo pump comes off I have no appetite for a few days also my mouth goes extremely sore back of throat roof of mouth full of ulcers, I use the mouth washes but I can't always eat well. I have mentioned it to my oncologist and he just suggested the mouth wash etc.

Sk I was thinking of getting some protein drinks to help with my diet during these few days.

Can anyone recommend any they've tried.

  • Hi

Happy New year to you .

This is an area we have been looking into for mum as her body is now slow in producing protein to push her fluids through her body .

The dietician did say she would prefer her to eat her protein but every little helps . We found a drink on Amazon that is actually a protein water . Comes in all different flavours . She has stuck with orange I think . It has no sugar but 20 gms of protein . I think it’s called Vieve .

Need to order some more . She just has half a glass pre day and not the full bottle as too much makes her bowel run . Think it must be the artificial sweeteners . Bit pricey but good product for a boost .
    Take care ,

  • hi Haz GI I was recommended a protein drink called Ensure when I was in hospital and had lost three stone. They're calorific and help replace electrolytes. I got mine on prescription which was free as I'd had cancer. They helped me put weight back on. Best drunk cold.
