Hiya, I had a sigmoid colectomy and anastomosis back in September and since then I've had bad lower left back pain on the side of the operation, it's very odd feeling like burning but moving around that area? Plus constant nerve pain going down my left leg. Has anyone else experienced this? What is it? Should I be concerned?
My cancer was successfully taken out and had not spread through the lymph nodes so no chemotherapy or radiotherapy was required.
Many thanks
I have had a sigmoid which was followed by full Colonoscopy then went to surgery which removed Cancer and follow tests found high probability cancer not in lymph nodes so no need for chemotherapy. It has been 3 months since my surgery and I get pain in lower abdomen insides take a fair time to settle.
I have had pain down my right leg but this is down to hip needing full replacement and pain from back problems. It may be prudent after a year to get further opinion from the doctor.
Hi Crazycow
It sounds like sciatica if you have pain shooting down your leg. I’ve had it and it’s extremely painful but mine wasn’t connected to my cancer
Since my diagnosis and operations I have found my back is very weak. Just a little bending or light housework and it’s aching. I feel that I need to practice yoga to strengthen my muscles. I just haven’t got the mindset at the moment
