Not even got a photo to share , however I will get one and we shall press on .

Off to the hospital for an appointment with mum today . Think they might see some progress .

Hope today is kind whatever you are up to .

  • Whoo!!!! Really? Must get my advent calendar out!! Daughter always asks what I want for my birthday (Nov) so a few years ago I said an advent calendar. Usually she finds a bunch of little things to wrap, much nicer than a bought one! Just opened 1st, and it is a little bunny!!!!

Hope the hospital went well,  you are both real troopers!!!

Wish the fog would lift, it makes it really chilly! Bring back the sun! Xxx

  • Here’s something a little different. A wee bonnet!

  • Yes, December came too soon I hope that your mum's Appt. went well today. It was freezing cold in W. Dorset today, but I wore my new Cashmere Jumper, which took the chill off a bit. I treated myself to this, after fighting my Council Tax Band (back in May,) & winning. Apparently, there's been a huge increase in people applying this year (thanks to Martin Lewis!)

I then met my three art students for lunch in town, & I had Mac n Cheese, with truffle & wild mushrooms for lunch. However, I couldn't taste much cheese in this! This is something I make once a week, but I add Chopped onions, mushrooms, bacon, green pepper & Toms....& loads of cheese! However, it was a long & lovely catch up with good friends!

Following my diagnosis of Bowel Cancer in May '19, then Lung Nodules in March '20, my scans have all been clear since then. My last was in March. However, just received letter to say my next CT Scan, will be on Dec 18th. So, no doubt, Xmas will be an anxious time of scanxiety & waiting for results.

However, it's good to be remembered & checked every so often.

Many best wishes to you & everyone on here.

  • I love that idea . How thoughtful . I knitted one . It’s wee red hats and decided just to use it this year but it’s still in the attic ! The chocolate is in the cupboard though !

another stunning photo ! Love how it bends at the bottom .
Looking forward to getting back out into nature . Managed a walk tonight . It was beautiful.

Now that’s something I have never had . Cashmere sounds lovely . Is it easy to launder ? Good on you for tackling the Council tax! I am in the middle of sorting out mum’s Council tax . Just got the pension sorted . One step at a time !

Not an easy thing you did there so well done. I went out a walk tonight and it was 10 degrees here and quite pleasant . Lots of fog !

I shall be thinking about you . Scans are just rotten . Mum is having one too ! Yikes . However it will be January before anything is back .

Well today after such a rough few months we had some good news. The doctor was pleased with mum . She is getting to come off her diuretic meds . She still needs support but is starting to look more like herself . Think he was delighted compared to how she was in hospital .

    Take care everyone .

  • Glad you had some positive news re. your mum! & hoping her scan goes okay too. The scan is fine - so long as you don't mind being rolled in & out of a massive polo! However, I always dislike the immediate & disturbing effects of the dye injection! It's a very weird & unnatural sensation.

Laundering cashmere? It says machine washable; however, I won't be taking any chances, & will be using a lukewarm wash - as I would be cross if it shrunk - considering what it cost! Having worn it the other day though - I would love all my winter woollies to be made of the stuff!!

Are you also sorting out the council tax banding for your mum? It's a very convoluted process I found; however, despite much emailing (demanding more information,) I was reluctant to give up - as I knew that the banding was wrong - & I was eventually proved right. However, you must have full details of a comparable property in your street. However, you might be sorting it out for another reason - but good luck, & persevere.

    Best of

  • Hello everybody. Enjoying the freedom of the pump but have been told to pace myself when the steroids are active. So a shorter walk today, but plenty of beauty close up and in the distance.  I’m sorry life is so tough for you Court and hope this little montage may lift your spirits a tad.

  • It certainly does .  so glad you are getting out and enjoying a good walk . Pacing yourself sounds a good plan .

I did put my Christmas tree up yesterday. Think both boys felt a bit sorry for me and came to select it and had a nice family breakfast  out .

I then came home a found this on my doorstep from my lovely neighbour !

There is a lot of kindness in the world .  Each day I keep reminding myself to see the good .

I can see mum getting a bit stronger . Try and get her out and connected to the world around her . It’s so healing in itself .

Keep posting . It lifts my spirits .
