Went to the toilet this afternoon and a wee bit of blood in pan and on toilet paper. I had my bowel tumour removed in January and adjuvant chemo in March to June. I did strain a little. (On holiday been eating too much food lol) didn’t manage the toilet yesterday. Not sure if it’s down to that. I’m due back at the hospital next week for my bloods to be checked. I just seem to think the worst all the time

  • Sending ((hugs)) as we have all been there. Yes it might be due to straining, might be worth an odd senna tablet to get things moving!? But please flag it up when you go next week to be on the safe side. Take care

  • Thank you. I will say to my nurses next week. I need to learn to stop thinking the worst all the time. It happened before and it was a fissure I had.

  • Oh you are allowed to panic after all you have been through .

People are far too hard on themselves on these boards . You have been through a lot but mum my strained so hard she triggered a lot of bleeding further up so please take s advice and resolve the need to strain.

Also glad you have an appointment soon and you can get the reassurance you need.

    Take care ,

  • Totally understandable and it probably is a fissure again... was the blood very bright red ( fresh) ... you must be due your 12mo colonoscopy very soon, that will settle your mind hopefully too

  • The delightful colonoscopy lol. The prep is the worst part. Yes it was fresh blood.
