I have a check up appointment at the hospital in a couple of weeks. Feeling nervous… I finished Adjuvant chemo in June. Had 4 cycles. This will be my first time back at the hospital since then. I take it I will get my bloods checked when I’m there. I have t had a ct scan since January 22 when I was first diagnosed. No appointment through for another one as of yet. No talk of another colonoscopy either.

im dreading going Weary. I know that I have to go and these checks are for my benefit

  • Hi

i finished my chemo in july and had my first 'clean' bloods end oct.   i was supposed to get my ct scan 1yr but couldn't/didnt want to wait so got it done end july  (9months after op) i had my colonoscopy 12months post diagnosis. so ideally you should probably be expecting a ct and colonoscopy at 12 months post diagnosis.

yes no one really looks forward to ..thankfully with a clear colonoscopy i was told repeat in 5 years ( i was expecting annually or 3yrly) .. no complaints here for that interval ;)

  • Hi MJ84

Im on a research program TRACC so I have bloods taken by the book and a lot of blood. That has no affect on my nerves but when I went for the scan it all came back. Then I’ve had a couple of pre ops. Again mentally I went back to my diagnosis. Scans well then we all feel the same scanxiety I think it’ll get easier the longer we get past the bad memories and have more positive. Im fifteen months from op and haven’t been called back for colonoscopy probably because I’ve had an EUA and a reversal

If I get an appointment come through for a colonoscopy I will think about having it done. Im not sure my bowel needs any more disruption

Good luck with your scan. You could phone your nurses to see when you’re likely to have an appointment. Mine was a year however I thought when having chemo they were sooner

Ive got a scan Friday so I’m extra anxious
