Hi all I’m new here and very scared I have bowel cancer. I’ve had bowel issues for over a year now and finally went to Gp and told fit test positive for hidden blood in so scared .
Hi Sugar78. There are several things that can cause a positive fit test - polyps, ibs, piles etc. but the important thing is to get properly checked out. Hopefully your doctor has referred you for a colonoscopy? In the meantime stay away from google. Only 1 in 10 colonoscopies result in a bowel cancer diagnosis so try to distract yourself until you know what you’re dealing with. If, and it is an if at this time, it does turn out to be bowel cancer then we’ll be happy to help and support you through your treatment.
