thank you  for your message we have just got home and we have been told the PET scan shows it is just in the sigmoid and liver and that they are hoping it is is curative he will start with chemotherapy then they will reassess after 3 months and then look possibly to operate if enough shrinkage I believe but there was so much information I am not too sure exactly but I definitely feel a lot more positive than I did. 

he is going on a chemo combination called XELOX and his CEA level is 331. They are waiting for another blood test result and if that comes back ok the oncologist said he will go on something else through a picc line but to be honest I cannot remember what they said this was but she said they would do that for the second round.

We just now have to hope he reacts well to the treatment.

So pleased to hear that Gonzo a light has just gone on for you both and the situation much more hopeful .

Hope the chemotherapy works well for him without too many side effects .

Hi Gonzo.

Overload of info in consultant appts seems common amongst us - you are not alone! You could always call or email them to ask the oncology specialist nurse or consultant to clarify if it helps.

Reacting well to treatment is what we all want, so i totally hear you. There will be bumps in our journeys, but gosh that horizon looks good.

Hope the last test comes good so your husband can continue on his road.
