Well, after the robotic LAR, home after 2 days, then 5 days later bowels went to sleep, so in hospital for a week, then a week later I had to have another operation, the join from where they removed my rectum and joined the colonwent well, but higher up the blood supply died off, and then I had a hole through into my vagina, so I was passing stool from there too. So last Wednesday I had another op, and have a stoma, she'd preserved my bottom, so maybe in 12 to 18 months it could be reversed, but I'm not too bothered at the moment. Today, I go home, which is wonderful, as this ward is crazy and never quiet. I saw my consultant today, she said she took 41 nodes, and there's no sign of cancer in any of them. Phew, she says I'm cancer free, but I'll wait, see if there's none that escaped to come back. I'm so relieved, I gave her a big hug. So all I have to do is recover from 2 major ops, Steve's said I can do nothing, he's confiscating hoovers, brushes, mops and has said he won't be letting me do anything, and he will keep an eye on me in case I go downhill again.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me from this group, I will still be around, I will also join the stoma group, as this is new to me.
You've all been beyond helpful and have helped me on here so much, I will be forever grateful to you all. Rosie xx
