Hi new here and not sure where to start really but wondered if anyone has any knowledge of Dendritic cell therapy? Apparently not available in the UK but it is abroad.
I have a recurrence of rectal cancer and have been offered radio therapy for now then chemo when it is needed. I had a tumour removed 2 years ago and an ileostomy reversal and thought all was well until now.
I’m waiting on a date for the radiotherapy to commence but in the meantime you obviously wonder what else can be done? Surgery is too intrusive and involves too much for me to comprehend including removal of the base of the spine. So I opted for palliative care in the hope that some new treatment may come up in the meantime?
So I’m wondering if any one has had this therapy or know of anyone that has had it? I appreciate it can be costly but how much and is it worth it?
Thanks
Hi Mark P
I used to follow a man who went to Germany for it but he did not have it in isolation and was still on chemotherapy and lots of other treatments too . I honestly could not say if he had some gains from it .
Just been looking at the clinical trial section with an eye open from my mum . Not sure if I have come across this approach before . Have you encountered this in your research ?

Hopefully it will get pushed through the trials process and open up their criteria.
Let66 had sacral involvement, I think , and surgery if you want to read their posts or find out some first hand information on how they recovered post surgery .

Hi Orly
Thank you for the info it will definitely be worth talking to them. I’m waiting for a date for radio therapy to hopefully knock this back for a while and I would think this treatment may be ideal after that and before I end up having to have chemo again (subject to cost).
kind regards
Mark
I have been looking into this for my wife (advanced endometrial cancer). Did you travel there back and forth or stay there? The best way to get there is by a 12 hour car journey.! The treatment is over 4\5 weeks so either lots of journeys or a long stay? Did you have leukapheresis?
Did you consider Immucura?
